His time ashore includes 9 years as QHSE and Loss Prevention Manager for one of the largest top tier ship management companies, responsible for a large fleet of LNG, LPG, Oil and Chemical tankers, container, and dry cargo vessels.

His primary focus is on marine claims, disputes and litigation and casualty management.

Tony has considerable ship handling experience having completed multiple manoeuvring operations in ports where pilots were not compulsory or available. Many of these manoeuvres were conducted at offshore moorings utilising subsea hoses for cargo operations. He also has experience of ship-to-ship operations, having sailed as Master on a bunker supply vessel with frequent manoeuvres alongside other vessels both at anchor and underway.

He has led several Incident Investigations for major marine casualties, fatalities, and serious injuries in close cooperation with Flag Administrations, Investigative Authorities and Government bodies. He has a thorough knowledge of human factors and applies this learning during investigations as required.

Tony has also been involved in many asset and cargo damage investigations including collisions, groundings, machinery failures, allisions, mooring equipment failures, Port and Flag State detentions and security incidents.

He has valuable experience in risk management processes including hazard identification, risk assessment, behavior based safety systems and incident reporting mechanisms.

As a QHSE and Loss Prevention Manager, he had oversight and responsibility for the development, implementation and upkeep of the ISM and ISO Integrated Safety Management System onboard and ashore. He successfully implemented and maintained certification for ISM, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 and managed the audit process for all fleet vessels and office environments ensuring full compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Tony has extensive experience in Tanker Management Self-Assessment (TMSA) and successfully assisted his Ship Management Company to obtain and maintain Time Charter approval from several major oil and energy providers. He oversaw the delivery of multiple new build LNG, LPG, Oil and Chemical tankers into management ensuring ISM, ISO, ISPS and MLC compliance, and adherence to management of change processes.
