Dennis is a Chartered Maritime Civil Engineer with nearly 30 years’ industry experience, specialising in ports and harbours. He is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a fully-qualified commercial diver. Dennis is a founding Director.

Dennis is recognised as a leading expert in Fixed & Floating Object Damage (FFOD) incidents and has considerable experience in the investigation and management of FFOD cases around the world, taking in over 60 countries.  He has a wealth of experience of working with P&I Clubs, lawyers, ship owners and other insurance interests and has an extensive understanding of all the technical and commercial issues associated with the resolution of FFOD claims.

As a commercially qualified diver, Dennis’ diving activities include the underwater inspection of damaged port facilities and monitoring of underwater salvage type operations for the removal of damaged structures.  Dennis has developed a particular specialism for the inspection of reef damages (e.g. due to vessel grounding) and the supervision of reef restoration projects.

Dennis has extensive experience in port feasibility studies, detailed design, preparation of tender documents, administration of construction contracts and condition surveys.  He has also acted as a Marine Warranty Surveyor on the loadout and installation of offshore platforms.

Dennis has prepared expert witness reports for arbitration and appeared as a witness of fact for cases involving defective port facilities, pre-existing damage and unsafe berths.
