Master Mariner

Paul has 37 years of seagoing experience, serving more than 28 years on chemical and oil Tankers. He has more than 20 years’ experience in command on various types of vessels.

He is experienced in the oil major standards according the OCIMF CDI guidelines and was involved in performing pre-inspections on chemical and oil tankers.  He has extensive experience as the Officer and Master responsible for the stowage and loading, carriage, and discharge of chemical and oil products.

Paul also has experience in handling, preparing, cleaning and inspection of IMO Class cargo tankers and has been responsible for preparation and cleaning of tanks, care in transit and sampling and surveying both for loading and discharge.

As Master, he has been involved in bill of lading disputes, charter party issues such as deviations due to bad weather, and the assessment of a vessel’s seaworthiness.

Subsequently he served on heavy lift and semi-submersible vessels and was involved in various LNG projects and the transportation of modules and heavy load cargoes.

Paul is an expert in ship Handling in the most extreme artic and polar conditions, in command of artic polar Class 3 specialized module carriers.  During his career he was also involved in several newbuilding projects, sea trials, commissioning, and conversion of various type of vessels. He has spent several months in shipyards as a part of the site team.

Paul also holds a valid offshore medical and safety and GWO certification.
