Tushar has a unique combination of experience to offer as a seasoned Master Mariner. He has over 28 years of industry experience, including 7 years in Command, has an LLM in Maritime Law and is a Member of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.

Tushar has a broad base of seagoing experience on Crude Oil Tankers, Bulk Carriers, OBO’s, Reefers and Container Vessels and has sailed on Cattle Carriers. His experience on bulk carriers encompasses a wide range of dry bulk products, steel products and the carriage of various project cargoes, including Wind Turbines for the renewable energy industry.
Before joining Waves group, Tushar had been a Maritime Lecturer at Warsash / Solent University and held a senior position as General Manager within a major shipping line leading the claims team.
As General Manager handling global claims for one of the top three container shipping lines, his responsibilities included the investigation of significant marine casualties, collisions, allisions and the management of cargo claims on behalf of Owners, Charterers and P&I Clubs.
He also has extensive experience in conducting Classification, On-hire, Off-hire, Pre-purchase surveys, P&I inspections, Project cargo and Container and Reefer cargo surveys.
His knowledge and experience in vessel simulation and ship handling have been regularly utilised for the investigation of marine casualties and in resolving disputes.
