Engineering Director :: Naval Architect

Jeremy is a Chartered Naval Architect and Engineering Director with over 27 years’ experience across offshore engineering, marine operations and renewable energy. He is responsible for Waves Group’s Energy and Engineering activities, leading the delivery and development of Marine Warranty Survey, engineering and consultancy services worldwide.

His experience spans offshore wind, tidal energy, subsea power cables, fixed and floating structures, heavy transportation and complex marine construction operations. He has managed projects from early feasibility and concept development through detailed design, construction and offshore installation, combining strong technical knowledge with practical understanding of project risk, commercial constraints and offshore execution.

Jeremy has acted as Project Director, technical authority and lead consultant on major offshore energy projects in the North Sea, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. His experience includes the transportation and installation of offshore wind foundations, substations and turbines, subsea cable installation and repair, jack-up and heavy lift operations, offshore logistics, port assessments and the development of innovative floating wind and tidal energy concepts.

 

He has extensive experience in naval architecture and offshore analysis, including vessel sizing, stability, strength, motions, structural design, seafastening, mooring systems and marine operability. He has also led the assessment and verification of novel transportation and installation concepts, including multibarge systems, concrete gravity base foundations and floating renewable energy systems.

As a Marine Warranty Surveyor and trusted adviser, Jeremy supports developers, contractors, insurers and legal teams in understanding and managing marine operations risk. He provides technical advice in connection with incidents, claims and legal investigations and has acted as an expert witness on complex marine construction and heavy lift matters.

Jeremy is particularly focused on supporting the continued development of offshore renewable energy. He works closely with clients and industry partners to develop practical, proportionate and commercially sound solutions and has built and maintained a number of long-term client relationships. He is also committed to developing engineering teams, mentoring technical staff and maintaining consistently high standards of project delivery.
