Waves Group Appoints Anthony Van Damme as Associate Director for Marine Warranty Survey
London, UK – May 2026 – Waves Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Van Damme as Associate Director for Marine Warranty Survey (MWS), reinforcing the company’s continued investment in its marine assurance and offshore project services capability.
In his new role, Anthony will lead and further develop Waves Group’s Marine Warranty Survey offering as a key business line within the organisation, supporting clients across offshore energy, marine construction and complex marine operations worldwide. Anthony brings more than 25 years of marine industry experience spanning seagoing and shore-based leadership roles across passenger and freight ferries, container shipping, dredging, harbour management and offshore marine assurance. Since joining Waves Group in 2023 as a Consultant Master Mariner, he has played an important role in supporting the growth and reputation of the company’s MWS services.
A Master Mariner with an MBA Harbour Master, and is an IMCA Approved Vessel Inspector for eCMID’s, Anthony has extensive expertise in marine warranty surveying, vessel suitability inspections, offshore installation operations, marine risk assurance and port and harbour management. His project experience includes overseeing load-out and installation activities for offshore substations, foundations and wind turbine generators, alongside participation in HAZID and HAZOP and package management activities for major offshore projects.
In addition to his involvement in projects, Anthony has served as an expert witness in various litigation cases and attended marine casualties. He has given evidence in maritime courts in the Netherlands and Panama.

Prior to joining Waves Group, Anthony held senior positions including Divisional Harbour Master at Associated British Ports, Marine Superintendent with Stena Line, Harbour Master at Larne Harbour, and Marine Pilot at the Port of Aberdeen.
Anthony is an Associated Fellow of the Nautical Institute and an Associate Member of the Society of Offshore Marine Warranty Surveyors.
