Waves Group at the RenewableUK Regatta 2025 – A Fantastic Day on the Solent
What a marvellous day it was out on the Solent as Waves Group joined industry colleagues for the RenewableUK Regatta 2025 – two days of sailing, networking, and camaraderie with professionals from across the renewables and maritime sectors.
Held at Port Solent Marina, Portsmouth, on 8–9 September, the Regatta provided an exciting opportunity to bring together the offshore wind and marine community, blending the thrill of competition on the water with the collaboration and teamwork that drive our industries forward.
Team Waves Takes to the Water
Representing Waves Group, Jeremy Panes Richard Hill and Andy Martin teamed up with colleagues and friends from across the renewable energy sector, including:
- Ian Phillips & Ian Nicholls
- Alex Gauntt
- Alastair Muir Wood
- Craig English
The team showed fantastic determination and skill, working together seamlessly on the water. After a competitive day of racing, we secured 6th place overall in the two races, after a gallant effort for second place in the practice race.
A Celebration of Teamwork and Industry Spirit
The event began with a training day on Monday, 8 September, followed by a vibrant networking reception at The Wildwood, Port Solent. On Tuesday, 9 September, the regatta came alive with three exhilarating races on the Solent, testing sailing skills, tactical teamwork, and coordination under pressure.
The competition concluded with the prize giving at Wildwood Restaurant, where participants came together to celebrate achievements, share stories from the day, and strengthen professional connections across the renewables and maritime sectors.
Why It Matters
For Waves Group, the RenewableUK Regatta is more than a sporting event – it is an opportunity to demonstrate the same teamwork, precision, and collaboration that underpin successful offshore
energy projects. These values are at the heart of our work, whether supporting subsea cable installations, providing Marine Warranty Survey services, or advising on the most complex offshore developments.
We are proud to support and participate in events like the RenewableUK Regatta, which shine a spotlight on the collective effort driving the global transition to renewable energy.
Well done & Thank You
Well done to the Reventus Power team who took top spot and the RUK silverware!
A huge thank you to RenewableUK for hosting such a brilliant event, and to all the teams who took part and the team at Prometheus Sailing who all made it a regatta to remember.
We’ll be back on the water again – ready to race, collaborate, and continue building connections across our industry.
Here’s to next year!
