Naresh is a Mechanical and Marine Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the marine industry. His sea-going experience has been on Container Vessels, Tankers, Bulk Carriers, PSV’s, ERRV’s and Passenger Vessels up to the rank of Chief Engineer.
He gained extensive experience in ship management, 10 years of which was as a Superintendent for over 14 different vessel types including: Refrigerated Cargo Vessels, Bulk Carriers, Geo Survey Vessels, Multi-purpose Support Vessels, and Saturated Dive Support Vessels. He was also responsible for undertaking root cause analysis prior to repair of ship board equipment. Naresh has substantial experience of the operation and repairs of slow speed and medium speed engines and a wide range of shipboard machinery. He underwent training on Sulzer engines at the Winterthur factory while working at Chevron and thus has considerable knowledge about marine engines and associated equipment.
Naresh has completed Projects/Dry-dockings worldwide, thereby gaining vast experience of compiling repair plan specifications, supervision of dry-dockings, vessel repairs and steel renewals and invoice evaluation.
Naresh has knowledge and experience of resolving product quality issues associated with fuel and lubricating oil, having served as a Global technical support Engineer with Shell International. Here he was involved in investigating and resolving quality, quantity or service issues for lubricating oil and fuel oil for all global locations where Shell was OEM. This has afforded him the knowledge of different fuel types and given him an insight into Bunker fuel chemistry.
His technical management experience consists of, carrying out audits, inspections, surveys, compliance of vessels to various regulatory bodies Class societies and Flag states, for a range of vessel types.
He also has expansive experience of leading and managing personnel from a variety of nationalities.
