Jan-Peter is a Civil and Structural engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the offshore energy industries. He has extensive experience in the construction and installation of offshore wind farms, oil and gas engineering and design, and decommissioning and was involved in the transportation and installation scope on a number of major offshore projects working as Engineering/Project Director across Europe, UK, the Middle and Far East, and the Americas.
He started his career as a structural engineer designing offshore oil and gas jackets and topsides and moved into the offshore transportation and installation business in 1993, gaining broad marine and offshore experience in the onshore preparation and offshore execution of oil and gas and renewables projects all over the world. Jan-Peter also specialises in offshore heavy lift cranes and structural vessel integration.
During his time as a Structural/Project Engineer, Jan-Peter worked on the design of notable platforms including NAM F3, and the installation of platforms and templates in all sectors of the North Sea. He was Project Director for the T&I scope for the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm and later as Director, responsible for fleet, yards, offshore operations, engineering and R&D.
He was previously responsible for fleet, offshore operations and engineering for Seaway Heavy Lifting (part of Subsea 7’s renewables business unit) and member of Seaway Heavy Liftings management team.
Jan-Peter specialises in offshore projects and consultancy services, focussing on the offshore renewable energy and new technologies for the development of future renewable energy markets. Jan-Peter has extensive experience in the development and implementation of new equipment, technologies and products like fibre rigging, and has been involved in many Joint Industry Projects.
He was also a member of the IMCA Fibre Rope working group, developing industry standards for the use of fibre rope rigging.
